Canadian Nationals St George de Beauce Quebec

Just came back from Nationals. I do not know what it is all about but all races are in very hilly coarses. 15kl TT with some 4kl climbs. was tough. I finish 2nd in my category. Very happy... Road race was even harder with a 3 kl climb 7 times, we finished just before the rain. Brining home 2nd place again. I'm having a very good season,,,,,,

World cup Yverdon-les-Bains Switzerland

Had a teriffic weekend in Swiss. Weather was great, friends where awsome. TT was a fast flat coarse with tecincal parts to it. I kept a good pace, brining home a Bronze Medal... Road race was the hardest I have ever done . some 13% climbs, finisned 14th.. Nationals in 2 weeks. I'm in good shape..

Defi Sportif Altergo 2015

For my French reading friends, lol,,, Hello, Grosse fin de semaine, 3 course international sur le cercuit Gille Villneuve. Il a fait tres beau, ce qui nous a permis de s'amuser encore plus.. 

Les vitesse eta tres elever, 40lk de moine. les course de 48 kl . Je remport dans ma category la premiere course, et fini 2eme les 2 autre,. La preparation et bonne, et ca promet pour une tres bonne saison. J'ai meme eu une visit du Maire de Montreal et les oranizareur Defi Sportif Altergo avec Chantal Petitclerc et Jean-Marie Lapointe,, ca fait du bien de se faire reconaitre pour tout les effort que je mais dans mon sport,,

 

Abu Dabi EHC handcycling weekend

Just back from a beautiful weekend racing in Abu Dabi. It was great to see the guys and enjoy some time together. It was a hot weekend with much emotion. It is the beginning

of the year, and always nice to see where we stand in our preparation. Lots of travel and not much sleep. I am still happy with my condition. Bronze medal in TT and finished in the front pack in road race. Next race Defi Sportif Montreal .....

1st Melbourne marathon today. 3rd overall. Felt good, beautiful day even with the wind.... Training is paying off... year starts off good.. Next race Abu Dabi March 22...

La Fondation Élan invite cyclistes et paracyclistes à se dépasser pour récolter des fonds pour le sport adapté.

Nice and hot here in Spain. But that did not help me yesterday. After one lap with lead group,, flat back tire. All this effort, this is sport. So feeling a bit sad this morning. Any ways, there is a lot worst happening in this word so what do I have to complain,,,,,,  This was my feelings last weekend. I am getting over it and back training for Provincials next weekend. So World Cup Spian was not a succes. Let see what happens Saturday....

Canadian Championship, Lac Megantic Quebec, 2014

Canadian Championship was a brutal one. Hills , Hills and more Hills. Weather was nice with us, stopped raining before race.  TT over with, finished 3rd my category, 4th overall. VERY HAPPY with my resaults on this very tough coarse. What a road race... it was beautiful and had a great start. 3 of us took off solo on the first climb. All was going good till a turn around before another hill. My chain came off, tried to put it back on with no success. When I finally got it on the 2 others were long gone. Not fun!!! So tried my best to catch them but not possible. Finished 3rd in my category. A bit disappointed! !!! Next race World Cup Segovia Spain in July. I will have a  good preparation and hopefully no mistakes. I am very glad with my progretion this year, the future looks bright,,,,, Thanks to my daughter Jade that helped me all week and took the lovely pics,,

Granby TT 2014

Great TT in Granby Québec, was the first race in Canada where the weather was nice to us... Sun was out, 19 degress with a face wind on the start. Good warm-up, felt good and off I was. Made the fastest time on this coarse.. Gold for me.. So now time to prepare for Nationals,,,

Defi Sportif Montreal

What a weekend. Saturday a mix of rain and sun. I finished 3rd, TT, in my category, not bad on account it was more a training then a peak for this weekend. Sunday, 5 degrees with lots of rain, not to fun. Gold in road race, felt good. To bad some of the guys pulled out on account of the weather. next race Granby PQ.

UCI race in Barsolona Spain,,,

Just back from a great week in Spain. The weather was wonderful and the riders all exited. After lots of travels this month and a very bad infection, I was able to finish 4th in TT and 5th at the sprint in road race. It was a nice event and having the road race next to the sea was awsome.. Next race Montreal Canada in May,,,,,

UCI Race ABu Dhabi,,, Bronze for Me !!

Just back from Race in Abu Dhabi, Formula 1 cercuit,, Windy day but nice and hot...3rd place in road race,, 4th in TT, had back disc, was not to good.. Ambrosio Wheels did the job in road race..
This was a nice race trip,, organizer spoiled us,,, Thanks.   Shape is back !!!

Melbourne Florida Marathon 2014

Just back from Melbourne Marathon, was a beautiful day here in Florida,,The Organizers had it well prepared, Thumbs up. As for me,, after taking a roung road in one of the resedentials areas, lost the front pack that had 20, 30 seconda on me, so was not a happy camper. I still finish 3rd in my category, 2nd Canadian in my category,, Ledo as usual won the race with Moreau not to far behind. Not sure , offical time will come out tomorrow, 7th overall,, . So now I know what I have to work on,, the year has begone,,yessss

Sorry my Europeian handcycling friends, even if I won our last race here in Canada, I was told it was to late. They want to go with development. I was put as spare for Matane but not Worlds Baie Comeau. So maybe see you there, where we can push our limits. If not I will have to come over and race there,, bye for now,,,, Never Give Up !!!!

Merci Mona, oui il faut beaucoup de courage pour me rendre ou je suis rendue. Est oui je suis fragile comme tout le monde. Tout les matin et un combat pour moi avec tout les difficulté que la vie me présent. Je ne me décourager pas, je prend la vie comme un nouveaux challenge en regardant en avant pour voir ce que il a de beau et nouveau qui m'attend, car la vie a tellement de belle chose a nous faire vive ci nous somme prêt a aller les trouver. On et tous fragile, mais notre force et d'être capable de ce relever...

Quebec Provincial Time Trail

Today was Quebec Provincial TT in Sainte Urban. The day started out pretty rainy, clearing for the start of the race with nice sun clearance. A bad cross wind was present making the pedaling hard to control. I paced my self pretty well and pushed at the end to find a Police car parked on the finish line on one side and another car on the other blocking the road, just before the photo finish. Had to hit the bakes loosing much time. I still won the TT, so Gold for me. My shape is coming back, feels good. Now to see if I will be chosen for Worlds in the fall.

Granby Race Time Trial

The day started off with a couple of spri kles in the sky. once in Granby the rain had stoped and ready to race.Had a good pepartion , felt good. Every race I am getting stronger. finished 2nd, Silver Medal. Next should be Gold. lol,,,, Nationals here I come, end of June.

First races of the year !!!!

With a long recuperation this winter after my car accident down in Florida, I had a great time doing my first races of the year. It started in Greenville SC USA. It was a very hilly coarse, the weather was nice, the trees in blossom, what beauty. I finished 6th TT and 5th road race. Was a good training for Worlds this year. This last weekend was Défi Sportif in Montreal. It was awesome, weather was with us, a big field in handbike division. Finished 4th TT H2 division,, 3rd road race. I felt very good for the road race, had good arms keeping up with all the attacks. But 10 kl to the end there was a big attack and I played my cards wrong, so ran out of juice, lol. I still had a great time, and all this with my cast..  Next race TT Granby, Quebec.

Florida Winter Training

Hi, A little up-date on my winter training in Florida. Sad to say I was hit by a car while training. I spent 5 days in the hospital with two broken feet, one leg and my genitals pretty damaged. It was a bummer but hay, shit happens. I find it essayer and faster to keep on training for fast recovery, so I started back at the gym two weeks after the accident. When I received my bike parts I put it back together and started cycling again, that felt great. I had a bit of adjusting to fit in my new cast, but all is working out well. It is nice and hot here so the rest of my preparation for the coming season should go very well. See you in the spring!!!!

Real Sports!!

Sports, I remember when My Dad used to bring me out to do sports. I enjoyed the pleasure of being with the guys and pushing the body to to the fullest just for the pleasure of playing sports. We would finish a game or competition and go for a drink with a big smile on my face. When I started handbiking it was the same, but with the years winning became more important then the game. Yes ego and the need to please the federations and government to get my pay check at the end of every month, if not I could not live fiscally. A lot of my handbike friends became the same and we stoped laughing and having fun. Some would even wish I would crash so they could win. As for the coaches one was as good as his last race. Well with a long rest I have found the pleasure of sports that my dad taught me and am training this winter with this in mind. I will be racing with a smile on my face this coming season. Enjoy sports!!!
